Thousands of miners and other trade union members marched through central Sofia on 20 November to demonstrate for better working conditions and higher wages.
Aside from the several thousand trade union members, university students and taxi drivers also took to the streets on that day. Some, like health workers and the notoriously underpaid miners, demonstrated for higher wages and better working conditions. The students simply demanded the resignation of the government under Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski.
The 20th November marked the 160th (!) day of continuous demonstrations against the socialist-led government in Bulgaria.
